PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's hockey team fell to the Maine Black Bears, 2-1, on Friday, Jan. 28 at Schneider Arena.
Delaney Couture (Shrewsbury, Mass.) put the Friars on the board first but Providence was unable to find the equalizer after two Maine power play goals.

-Both teams were scoreless through the opening twenty minutes. Providence outshot Maine, 14-6 in that time.

Delaney Couture tallied the first goal of the game, 1-0, 2:51 into the second period. Couture was assisted by
Bailey Burton (Bloomington, Minn.) on her third goal of the season.
-Ally Johnson evened things up for Maine, 1-1, at the 11:46 mark of the second period, on the power play after
Ashley Clark was sent to the box for an interference. The teams entered the second intermission in the tie.
- Mira Seregely netted the game-winner for the Black Bears 4:04 into the third, 2-1. Maine's second goal also came on the power play after
Isabelle Hardy (Oakville, Ontario) was whistled for hooking.
- Maine received a five-minute major for contact to the head with 6:29 remaining in play. The Friars were unable to find the equalizer during that time.
- The Friars outshot the Black Bears, 42-22.

Mireille Kingsley (Sudbury, Ontario) stopped 22 of 24 shots between the pipes.
