PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's soccer team will travel to Kingston, R.I. to take face intrastate rival Rhode Island on Monday, Sep. 6 at 7 p.m. The Friars are coming off a 2-1 loss against No. 14 New Hampshire on Sep. 3 in Durham, N.H. and look to bounce back from defeat.

Friars lose to New Hampshire… The Friars were defeated by No. 14 New Hampshire Friday night at Wildcat Stadium. It was a tightly contested match, with New Hampshire scoring the first two goals of the match from graduate students Linus Fallberg and Paul Mayer. Senior midfielder
Paulo Lima (Lisbon, Portugal) put the Friars within one goal after a penalty with just over seven minutes to go in the match. Each team finished the game with nine shots.

Scouting the Rams… The Rams have started the 2021 season with a 2-1-0 record. On Aug. 26, the Rams opened the season against Hofstra where they lost 2-0. Later that week, the Rams got their first victory of the season against Central Connecticut State, 2-0, on Aug. 30 in Kingston, R.I. Freshman forward, Rafa Villaneuva scored his first collegiate goal in the seventh minute of the match. Senior Forward, Patrick Agyemang added a goal in the 77

rd, the Rams traveled to UCONN to earn a 1-0 victory from an early goal by the Ram's freshman forward Isak Oytese in the 12
th minute. The Rams also bring back top returning goalkeeper in the A-10, Stefan Schmidt, who missed last season staying home in Germany due to the Pandemic. In his 23 career games, Schmidt has posted eight shutouts and holds a 0.93 goals against average.
Scouting the Friars… The Friars have scored a total of 10 goals through their first three games of the season, including three against No. 23 Fordham in a 3-0 shutout to open the season. Graduate Student
Davis Smith (Amherst, Mass.), and BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week (Aug. 30), leads all Friars in points this season, tallying two goals and an assist in his first two games. The Friars have had eight different goal scorers this season. The Friars have estabished a 2-1-0 record in their first three matches.
Friars against ranked opponents… The Friars have already had two matches in the 2021 season against ranked opponents and hold a 1-1-0 record. On Aug. 26
