PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College field hockey Head Coach
Diane Madl released the program's 2021 fall schedule today [July 20]. The slate consists of 18 games, including 11 home matches at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I.
The Friars will host Bryant (Aug. 27) and Boston University (Aug. 29) on opening weekend. The squad will hit the road to play Maine on Sept. 4, followed by a neutral-site game in Orono, Maine against Harvard on Sept. 5.
Providence returns home to Lennon Family Field to host back-to-back non-conference games against New Hampshire (Sept. 10) and LIU (Sept. 12), before opening the BIG EAST Conference season at the Proving Grounds against Villanova (Sept. 17).
Following the Friars' match at Villanova, they will remain on the road to face non-conference opponent Monmouth (Sept. 19).
Providence will welcome Georgetown for its BIG EAST home opener on Sept. 24, followed by a pair of road games at UMass (Sept. 26) and Connecticut (Oct. 1).
The Friars will enjoy a stretch of four-consecutive home games beginning with VCU on Oct. 3. BIG EAST opponents Temple and Old Dominion will come to Friartown for league matches on Oct. 8 and Oct. 15, respectively. The home stand concludes with a cross-city match-up against Brown on Oct. 17.
Providence closes the regular-season schedule with a conference match at Liberty (Oct. 22) and a pair of home contests against BIG EAST foe Quinnipiac (Oct. 29) and non-conference foe Dartmouth (Oct. 31).
