PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Field Hockey Canada announced its Junior Women's National Team roster that will compete at the 2021 Junior Pan American Cup in Santiago, Chile on August 21-29. Nora Goddard-Despot (North Vancouver, British Columbia) is among the list of 16 field players who will travel to Santiago to compete in the championship.
Goddard-Despot, a midfielder, has played 26 career games for the Providence College field hockey program. In an abbreviated 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she started all 11 games for the Friars and tallied three points on one goal and one assist. Goddard-Despot also is a two-time NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad selection
The original U21 Pan Am Cup was scheduled for 2020 but will now take place in August 2021. The age restrictions shifted to recognize the postponement of the tournament. Anyone born in 1999 or later is eligible to compete in the Junior Pan American Cup, but only those born in 2000 or later are eligible to compete in the Junior World Cup.
