Baskerville ranks among the top-15 in the league in six statistical categories, including three in the top-five.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College junior forward Mary Baskerville (Enfield, Conn.) was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team. The conference office released its annual major awards ahead of the 2021 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament presented by JEEP, which will be played at Mohegan Sun Arena on March 5-8.

Baskerville completed the regular-season schedule averaging a team-best 13.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.8 blocked shots and 1.5 steals per game. She also leads the Friars in field-goal percentage, having converted 54.6-percent of her shots (107-196), and adds 1.2 assists per game.

Baskerville ranks in the top-15 in the BIG EAST in six statistical categories, including a top-five ranking in blocked shots (first), defensive rebounding (fourth) and field-goal percentage (fifth). She also ranks seventh in rebounding, 14th in steals and 15th in scoring among her BIG EAST peers.

Baskerville has recorded five double-doubles this season, all of which came during BIG EAST regular-season action.

Baskerville burst on the scene during the 2018-19 campaign and nabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Year honors for the Friars. In 81 career games, she has recorded 901 points and 588 rebounds, while shooting 54.8-percent from the field (374-683).  Her 588 boards rank 21st all-time at Providence College, and her 7.3 rebounds per game during her career marks the eighth-highest average in program history. Additionally, she is on pace to become the 35th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point milestone (901).

The Friars open BIG EAST Tournament action on Friday, March 5 at the No. 7 seed. They will face No. 10 seed Butler in the First Round at 2:00 p.m. It marks the second time in the last three years that the Friars have claimed the No. 7 seed (2021, 2019), and marks the highest seed in for the Friars since 1996. That year, the Friars entered the BIG EAST Tournament as the No. 2 seed.
