Men's Soccer Falls to No. 2 Georgetown, 3-0

Rimi Olatunji made four saves on the day.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Providence College men's soccer team fell to the No. 2 Georgetown Hoyas, 3-0, on Shaw Field in Washington, D.C. The Friars moved to 4-3-1 overall on the season and 3-3-1 in BIG EAST play.

GAME FLOW & NOTES 
-Luis Garcia (Gran Canaria, Spain) had  great look to score in the 20th minute of play. The midfielder had a wide open shot from six-yards out. Georgetown keeper was able to make the diving save at the bottom center of the net. 
-Rimi Olatunji (Brampton, Ontario) was able to keep the match scoreless with a jumping save in the 40thminute. Dante Polvara headed the ball off a corner kick which Olatunji was able to grab. 
-Providence held the advantage at the half in shots, 8-5, and shots on goal, 5-1. 
-In the 50th minute, Olatunji delivered again punching the ball over the back of the net to keep the score 0-0. 
-Georgetown took a 1-0 lead in the 77th minute. Paul Rothrock took the corner kick where he connected with Aidan Rocha who was able to send a rocket into the lower right of the net. 
-The Hoyas extended their lead, 2-0, in the 82nd minute. Providence defenders attempted to clear out a Georgetown cross but scored in their own goal off an unlucky bounce. 
-In the final minute of regulation, Georgetown found the back of the net to take a 3-0 lead. Kyle Linhares kicked it past PC keeper near the left post. 
-The Hoyas edged the Friars in shots, 15-11, and corner kicks, 9-4. Providence held the advantage in shots on goal, 8-6. 
 

HOW THEY SCORED
1-0 – GU (76:45/2nd) – Aidan Rocha (Rothrock) – Rocha scored with his right foot in the bottom right of the net off a corner kick. 
2-0 – GU (81:46/2nd) – Team goal – Own goal 
3-0 – GU (89:44/2nd) – Kyle Linhares (Dodson) – Linhares slipped the ball past the keeper in the lower left of the goal off a cross from Dodson.
