No. 10 Women's Hockey Tops New Hampshire, 5-4

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 10 Providence College women's hockey defeated the New Hampshire Wildcat's by a score of 5-4 on Saturday, Feb. 7 at Schneider Arena.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
-The Friars got off to a quick start, courtesy of a goal from Caroline Peterson (East Falmouth, Mass.) 1:40 into regulation. Peterson tipped the puck in off a shot from Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.). Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) earned the secondary assist on the goal.
 
-UNH's Jada Christian evened the score out, 1-1, on the power play, after Claire Tyo (Massena, N.Y.) was sent to the box for hooking.
 
-Providence regained the lead only 19 seconds later with a goal from Isabelle Hardy (Oakville, Ontario). Hardy was assisted by Bailey Burton (Bloomington, Minn.) and Brooke Becker.
 
-The Warriors tied up the game again, 2-2, with a goal from Avery Myers 17:40 into the opening period.  
 
-The Friars and the Wildcats entered the second period tied 2-2, but New Hampshire took the lead with a goal from Avery Myers at 13:59. Myers was assisted by Charli Kettyle and Lindsey Dumond.
 
-New Hampshire carried a 3-2 into the second intermission, with Providence leading in shots 27-16.
 
-Hayley Lunny (Bedford, N.Y.) kicked off an action packed third with a goal 2:05 into the final period, equalizing the score at 3-3. Claire Tyo and Bailey Burton earned the assists on the goal.  
 
-Lindsay Bochna (Toronto, Ontario) followed up with another goal just less than 3 minutes later to put the Friars ahead, 4-3. Claire Tyo fed the puck to Bochna for her second assist of the night. Bailey Burton earned the secondary assist, her third assist of the night.
 
-Bochna struck again with her second goal of the night at 14:13, giving the Friars a two-goal cushion, 5-3. Delaney Couture (Shrewsbury, Mass.) fed the puck to Bochna who put it past Boutilier for the game winning goal.
 
-Lauren Martin scored one more goal for the Wildcats with less than 3 minutes to go in regulation, 5-4, with the extra attacker.
 
-Sandra Abstreiter (Freising, Germany) recorded 24 saves on the night.
 
-Isabelle Hardy led the team in shots (5).
