Bodmer, Rothmann and Gallagher Earn BIG EAST Weekly Awards

The awards recognize performances in a 4-0 win over Bryant.

New York, N.Y.- Providence College women's soccer player Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, Feb. 22. Additionally, Alexis Rothmann (Norwell, Mass.) was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week and Kyla Gallagher (Farmington, Conn.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Providence defeated Bryant, 4-0, on Sunday, Feb. 21.
 

Bodmer owns one shut out on the season versus Rhode Island and played 76:28 in a team shutout versus Bryant. Bodmer had two saves against the Bulldogs, including a penalty kick save.

Rothmann led the Providence defense that only allowed two shots and one corner kick against Bryant. The Providence defense has yet to allow a goal this season and outshot Bryant 30-2, including a 16-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Gallagher scored the game-winning goal and the first of her career against Bryant. Gallagher took a cross from Meg Hughes (Rochester, Mass.) in the middle of the box and scored with her right foot in the bottom right of the net.
