PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's basketball team defeated NCAA Division II Bentley, 64-46, in an exhibition game on Nov. 4 in Providence, R.I. The Friars led wire-to-wire as four players cracked double digits in the scoring column.
The Friars led by as many as 33 with 2:41 remaining in the third quarter.
Freshman guard
Kylee Sheppard (Cincinnati, Ohio) paced Providence with 14 points. Graduate transfer
Andreana Wrister (Memphis, Tenn.) hauled in a game-high seven rebounds.
Freshman
Olivia Olsen (Niskayuna, N.Y.) added 11 points and five boards, while
Mary Baskerville (Enfield, Conn.) and
Janai Crooms (Cranston, R.I.) each recorded 10 points. Freshman
Audrey Koch (Iowa City, Iowa) contributed a solid stat line with eight points, four rebounds and a game-high five assists.
Bentley was led Maggie Whitmore's 13 points and seven rebounds.
The Friars officially open the 2021-22 season on Tuesday, Nov. 9 against Yale. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 4:00 p.m. at Alumni Hall/Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I.
