PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's and women's cross-country teams will travel to Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. for the NCAA Northeast Regionals on Friday, Nov. 12. The women's 6k race is set for 11 a.m. and the men's 10k race is set for 12 p.m. The Providence women are ranked second in the Northeast Region and 24th nationally while the men are ranked third in the region.

The Friar women will be led by
Maria Coffin (Annapolis, Md.) and
Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland). At the BIG EAST Championship in wet and muddy conditions in Carmel, Ind. on Oct. 29, Coffin finished eighth (21:08.1) and Mooney finished ninth (21:08.6), both earning All-BIG EAST Honors for their performances. Mooney received BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week honors this season after her performance at Battle of Beantown. The Friar women won the NCAA Northeast Regional most recently in 2017.
Marcelo Rocha (Peabody, Mass.) and
Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) will lead the charge for the Friar men. Rocha and Back led the team to a fourth-place finish at the BIG EAST Championships. Rocha finished fourth (24:22.07) and Back finished eighth (24:32.2). Rocha has earned BIG EAST Male Athlete of the Week honors twice this season.
