Stauber Named Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College goaltender Jaxson Stauber (Plymouth, Minn.) was named Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season as announced by Hockey East on Monday (Jan. 25). Stauber shared the weekly honor with UMass' Filip Lindberg.
 
Stauber turned away 56-of-57 shots faced against No. 8 UMass last weekend as the teams battled to a pair of ties, each coming way with a shootout victory. Over the two games, Stauber posted a 0.46 goals-against average and a .982 save percentage, including his third shutout in 12 starts. For the season, Stauber (5-3-4) has posted a 1.80 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.
