PROVIDENCE, R.I.– The Providence College women's basketball program announced its 2019-20 BIG EAST Conference regular-season schedule today [Sept. 12]. Additionally, four games will be nationally-televised, while the remaining 14 contests will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN).

Providence is set to open the 2019-20 BIG EAST schedule with a pair of road games against Villanova and Georgetown.  The Friars travel to Villanova, Pa. to face the Wildcats at Finneran Pavilion on Sunday, Dec. 29.  The contest will be televised on FS1 and is scheduled to tip-off at 4:00 p.m. Providence will remain on the road to face the Hoyas at McDonough Arena in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Dec. 31. The Friars fell to the Hoyas twice during the regular-season schedule last year, and again in the WNIT Round of 16.  Two of the three losses were decided by single-digits, including Providence's season-ending defeat in the WNIT (53-46).

The Friars' will host 2019 BIG EAST Tournament Champion DePaul in their conference home opener on Friday, Jan. 3 at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 6:30 p.m. and will be televised on FS2.  On Sunday, Jan. 5, the Friars will host 2019 BIG EAST Regular-Season Champion and Tournament runner-up Marquette.

Providence hits the road for three-straight games, beginning Saturday, Jan. 11 at Creighton. CBS Sports Net has signed on to televise the game, which is scheduled to tip at 12:00 p.m. (ET) at DJ Sokol Arena in Omaha, Neb. The following weekend, Providence will face St. John's at Carnesecca Arena in Queens, N.Y. (Friday, Jan. 17) and Seton Hall at Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, N.J. (Sunday, Jan. 19).

The Friars return home to Alumni Hall for a two-game set against Butler (Friday, Jan. 24) and Xavier (Sunday, Jan. 26). The Friars claimed a 74-68 victory in triple-overtime at home against Butler last season, en route to a regular-season sweep.  Providence also swept Xavier during the 2018-19 campaign and went on to defeat the Musketeers, 70-62, in the First Round of the BIG EAST Tournament.  The Friars' game against Xavier will be televised on FS2 at 1:00 p.m.

The second half of the conference slate will send the Friars to Milwaukee, Wis. to face Marquette at the Al McGuire Center on Friday, Jan. 31. Providence will remain on the road to face DePaul at McGrath Phillips Arena in Chicago, Ill. on Sunday, Feb. 2.

The Friars will complete the BIG EAST schedule playing five of its last seven regular-season games at home in Providence, R.I.

The stretch begins with a three-game home stand on Saturday, Feb. 8 against Creighton.  The following weekend, Providence will welcome Seton Hall and St. John's to Alumni Hall.  The match-up against the Pirates will serve as the backdrop for the program's annual Project Providence event, with an early afternoon tip-off at 11:30 a.m. The Friars close the home stand against the Red Storm on Sunday, Feb. 16.

Providence will face Xavier and Butler in its final regular-season road trip on Friday, Feb. 21 and Sunday, Feb. 23, respectively.

In the final weekend of regular-season action, Providence will host Georgetown on Friday, Feb. 28 and Villanova on Sunday, March 1.

The 2020 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Championship is slated to be played March 6-9 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill.

In addition to the Friars' four nationally-televised games on FS1, FS2 and CBS Sports Network, the program's remaining 14 league games will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN).

The BIG EAST Digital Network will provide coverage of 75 additional women's basketball conference games overall. BEDN launched in September 2014 as a streaming-only offering of 225 live regular season and championship events annually for the BIG EAST Conference. SoFi became the presenting sponsor of BEDN in 2017-18. Announced this fall, BEDN continued its relationship with Caffeine, a recently launched social broadcasting platform for live sports, gaming, and esports, as a distributor of Women's Basketball and Olympic sports championships and events. The BIG EAST has a dedicated channel on Caffeine, www.Caffeine.tv/BEDN, where fans can find all BEDN content.
