Four different players scored for the Friars on Friday night.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's soccer team opened the 2019 season with a resounding 4-0 win over UMass Lowell on Friday night (Aug. 30) on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- The Friars jumped out in front just 20 seconds into the contest as Davis Smith (Amherst, Mass.) headed in a cross from Trevor Davock (Medway, Mass.) to put Providence up 1-0.
- Sophomore Paulo Lima (Lisbon, Portugal) notched his first career goal in the 23rd minute to give the Friars a two-goal cushion.
- Just three minutes later, Joao Serrano (Evora, Portugal) converted on a penalty kick to put Providence up 3-0.
- The teams combined for four yellow cards in the first half, three assessed to the River Hawks.
- Providence extended their lead to 4-0 in the 77th minute off of a goal by Andualem Chisholm (Attleboro, Mass.), his third career goal.
- Trevor Davock finished the night with two assists.
- Friday marked the first meeting between the two schools.
