The Friars will host DePaul on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 1:00 p.m.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team falls to No. 21 Marquette, 3-0. The Friars' record is now 6-6 overall and 0-1 in the BIG EAST Conference.Â
FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS:
- Marquette won the first set, 25-21.
- The Friars tied the match, 15-15, and forced a Golden Eagles timeout.  Marquette came out of the timeout to score three-straight points to take an 18-15 lead.
- Jenea Alderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn.), Addison Root (Wichita, Kan.) and Allison Impellizeri (Seaford, N.Y.) all had four kills to lead the Friars' offense.
-Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) contributed to the offense with 12 assists.
- Megan Onyundo (Woodbridge, Va.) and Alderson recorded three digs apiece.
-The Friars tallied two total team blocks.

SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS:
- Marquette won the second set, 25-14.
- Lindsey Schiable (Tampa, Fla.) led the Friars attack with three kills.
- Alderson and Impellizeri were not far behind with two kills apiece.
- Barber led the Friars in assists (9) and digs (3).Â

THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:
- Marquette won the third set, 25-21
-Impellizeri led the Friars' offense with four kills, while Alderson was not far behind with three kills.
-Barber tallied nine assists.
-Mackenzie Taylor (Holbrook, N.Y.) and Alderson recorded four and three digs apiece.
MATCH NOTES:
- As a team, Providence recorded 35 kills, 33 assists, 32 digs and four total team blocks. Â
-Impellizeri led the Friars' offense, recording 10 kills.
-Alderson contributed to the offense with nine kills.
-Barber tallied a total of 30 assists to lead all players in the match.
-Taylor and Alderson recorded seven digs each to lead the Friars defense.
WHAT'S NEXT:
Providence returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 23 against BIG EAST foe DePaul.  The match will be played at Alumni Hall/Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I. and is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
