PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team clinched their fifth-straight BIG EAST tournament appearance on Thursday night at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium with a 3-2 overtime win over the Creighton Bluejays. Providence and Creighton battled for the last spot in the BIG EAST Tournament, the No. 6 seed Providence Friars will travel to the No. 3 seeded St. John's Red Storm on Sunday afternoon.

Elayna Grillakis paced the Friars in the first half with a game-high four shots, including two on target that were denied by Bluejay goalkeeper Katie Sullivan.
- Creighton only managed one shot on goal in the first half, but they made it count after Taryn Jakubowski put home a failed clear by the Friars after her teammate Emma Braasch's header rang off the post.
- Providence held a 9-6 edge in shots in the opening 45 minutes.
- The Bluejays extended their lead to 2-0 in the 58
th minute as Kylin Grubb one-timed a cross from Kaira Houser.
- The Friars cut the deficit in half in the 67
th minute on
Hannah McNulty's ninth strike of the season on assists from
Casey Estey and
Olivia Lucia.
- McNulty was not finished after her first goal, in the 87
th minute she stood over the ball from about 25 yards out before striking a curving ball to the far post that tied the game.
- At the end of regulation Providence outshot Creighton, 18-13.
- With a postseason berth on the line,
Camille Murphy (Seattle, Wash.) scored just five minutes into overtime. This marked her first career goal.
