NEW BRITAIN, CONN. -Â The Providence College men's and women's cross-country teams will travel to New Britain, Conn. to compete at the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday (Oct. 19). The CCSU Mini Meet will be the last competition before the BIG EAST Championship on Oct. 27 in Indianapolis, Ind. The meet will help determine the Friars' top-10 men and women traveling to the BIG EAST Championship the following week.

CCSU Meet Schedule:
3:00 p.m. – JV Women (3k)
3:30 p.m. – Varsity Women (3K)
4:00 p.m. – Varsity Men (5K)
4:30 p.m. – JV Men (5k)

Junior Abbey Wheeler (Elmira, N.Y.) and sophomore Maria Coffin (Annapolis, Md.) will lead the Friars on Friday in the women's varsity race. Wheeler and Coffin are coming off personal bests at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational and look to have strong performances this Friday.Â

Joining Wheeler and Coffin are graduate students Regan Rome (Dalla, Pa.) and Tessa Barrett (Waverly, Pa.). Rome and Barrett have been improving each race this cross-country season and look to score points for the Friars over the 3k course.

Senior Dara Cuffe (Cornwall, N.Y.), junior Alex DeCicco (Sachem, N.Y.) and freshman Hannah McReavy (Colorado Springs, Colo.) also will step up to the line for the varsity race.

In the women' s junior varsity (JV) race, sophomores Abigail Post (Wantage, N.J.), Emily Wall (Nauset, Mass.), Dana Lowney (Easton Mass.) and freshman Catherine Buzzerio (Holmdel, N.J.) will be racing for the Friars.

On the men's side, senior
Austin Scola (Medfield, Mass.) will lead the charge for Providence on Friday in the men's varsity race. Scola was the first Friar to cross the line at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Sept. 28.Â

David Rosas (Chestnut Ridge, N.Y.),
Marcelo Rocha (Peabody, Mass.),
Angus White (New Plymouth, New Zealand),
Ryan Gallagher (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) and senior
Peter Rindfuss (Hamburg, N.Y.). This group of underclassmen all look to improve upon their Wisconsin performances and have strong races over the 5k course.

Tyler Dorsainvil (New Rochelle, N.Y.), Mathew Lepine (Red Bank, N.J.),
Sean Meehan (East Greenwich, R.I.) and
Samuel Walker (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) will also be racing the men's JV race on Friday. Â
