PROVIDENCE, R.I. - In the second home meet of the year, Providence College hosted the Iona College Gaels swimming and diving team at Taylor Natatorium in Providence, R.I. The Friars earned their first win of the year, topping Iona 139.5-101.5. The men's team fell to the Gaels, 136-87.

Senior, Katie Fallon was unstoppable in the meet today, taking first place in each of her events. Fallon started by earning nine points in the 200-meter freestyle (2:10.26). She went on win another nine points in the 400-meter freestyle (4:36.02). She then teamed up with Katie Thornton, Margie Keenan and Lauren Zawacki to bring home eleven more points as the 400-meter freestyle finished in 4:05.45.

On the diving board, Providence was dominant. Kendall Jerzyk reigned superior once again as she brought home 18 points for the Friars, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive. Sarah Rehak followed right behind in both events, helping Providence secure eight more points.

The Friars are back in the pool next weekend, on Friday Nov. 17 and Saturday Nov. 18 as they travel to Kingston, R.I. for the Harold Anderson Invitational.
