Thomas O'Neill To Represent US At Deaflympics

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

Providence College cross country/track sophomore Thomas O'Neill (Middletown, N.Y.) was invited to compete for the USA Deaf Sports Federation on July 18-30, 2017 at the 23rd Summer Deaflympics in Samsun, Turkey.

O'Neill will also spend a week training with the national team in June in Washington, D.C.

During the 2015 cross country season, O'Neill helped the Friars to a third-place finish at the BIG EAST Championships, finishing 15th to earn All-BIG EAST honors. He has also earned BIG EAST Athlete of the Week honors twice in his career at Providence and has run 8:29.24 for the 3,000 meters and 14:24.91 for the 5,000 meters on the track.
