The women's soccer team will play DePaul University on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 4:00 p.m. in Chicago, Ill. The match will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) via Fox Sports Go.

The Friars defeated the Blue Demons for the first time since 2013 on Oct. 22, 2015. The victory marked the Blue Demons first conference loss since Nov. 2, 2013. The Friars and the Blue Demons met again in the quarterfinal match of the 2015 BIG EAST championships at Wish Field in Chicago, Ill. Providence defeated DePaul, 1-0 on Nov. 3, 2015 to advance to the BIG EAST semi-final match in Omaha, Nebraska.
Scouting the Blue Demons
The Blue Demons enter Thursday's match 8-5-2 on the season and 5-1-0 in the BIG EAST, holding the first place spot. DePaul's only loss in 2016 conference play came on Oct. 15 against St. John's, 1-0. The Blue Demons offense ranks second in points (102) and goals (36) in the BIG EAST trailing Georgetown University.
Senior Abby Reed ranks third in the BIG EAST in goals (9) and second in the BIG EAST in assists (6) for 24 points on the season. Sophomore Franny Cerny has tallied 19 points on seven goals and five assists.
Junior goalkeeper Lauren Frasca has seen action in 12 games and posts a 7-4-1 record. Frasca has allowed 16 goals for a 1.38 goals against average and has recorded 21 saves for a .568 save percentage.
Scouting the Friars
The Friars are 10-4-2 overall and 4-1-1 in BIG EAST conference play. Providence enters Thursday's match after a thrilling overtime win over Creighton University on Oct. 15, 1-0. The Friars have outscored opponents 25-14 during their 2016 campaign and post a 1.56 goals per game average.
Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) and senior Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) lead the Friars' attack with 15 points each. Hiller has notched seven goals and one assist and Ugolik has tallied six goals and three assists.
Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) leads the BIG EAST in saves (77) and has recorded 1514:57 minutes in net over the 16 games. Shea posts a 0.83 goals against average and a .846 save percentage.

Season Awards
Oct. 17: Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after scoring the game winning overtime goal over Creighton on Oct. 15.
Oct. 3: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) earned her third BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week award of the 2016 season as announced by the league. Shea finished the weekend 2-0, after a win over Xavier University, 2-1, and a 1-0 win over 2015 BIG EAST Champions Butler University.
Sept. 26: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after a shutout against then-No.6/3 Georgetown University.
Sept. 19: Senior Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after a 2-0 weekend with Friar victories over Central Connecticut on Sept. 15 (3-1) and Massachusetts on Sept. 18 (3-0). The forward was tied for most points on the weekend in the BIG EAST on two goals and two assists.
Sept. 5: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST goalkeeper of the week after a shutout weekend against both Boston University and Colgate University.
Sept. 5: Junior Juliana Pellegrini (Rockville Centre, N.Y) received BIG EAST honor roll recognition after scoring three of the Friars' seven goals on the weekend.
Aug. 29: Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after scoring both of the Friars' goals against Northeastern and Maine, respectively.
Aug. 22: Sophomore Katie Day (East Hampstead, N.H.) earned BIG EAST Honor Roll after notching her first career goal on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute against then, No. 10 Rutgers.
