LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Providence College women's volleyball team defeated Delaware State in the first game of the Bucknell Invitational (25-19, 25-23, 25-13). The Friars won in straight sets, marking their seventh-consecutive win. Providence has won 21 straight sets.
Freshman Emily Horner (Mission Viejo, Calif.) led the Friars' attack with eight kills and was closely followed by freshman Allison Impellizeri (Seaford, N.Y) who tallied seven.
Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) collected 13 digs on the match and Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) posted 22 assists for the Friars.
The Friars are back in action on Sept. 19th at 12:00 p.m. against tournament host Bucknell and again at 3:00 p.m. to close the weekend against Colgate.
