Nov. 5, 2015 BIG EAST Semifinals Game Notes 
OMAHA, Neb. - The Providence College women's soccer team, the No. 6 seed, will play No. 2. Georgetown in the Semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship at 8:00 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 6 in Omaha, Neb. The Friars record a 13-7 (5-4 BIG EAST) record, while the Hoyas hold an 11-5-2 (6-1-2 BIG EAST) record.

FIRST ROUND VICTORY
- The Friars' 1-0 victory vs. DePaul in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament marked the team's first road victory in the conference tournament play all-time. Heading into Tuesday's game vs. DePaul in Chicago, the Friars were 0-3 on the road in the BIG EAST Tournament.
- Senior Kathryn Hiller scored the game-winning goal for the Friars in a 1-0 victory over DePaul in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Nov. 3 in Chicago, Ill. Hiller has four game-winning goals in her career, and Tuesday's goal against DePaul was her first game winner vs. a BIG EAST opponent. Her other three came during non-conference play.
- Senior Morgan Thomasian recorded her first career assist on the game-winning goal to defeat DePaul, 1-0, in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Nov. 3 in Chicago, Ill. In 34 career games with the Friars, Thomasian had five points on two goals and one assist.
- Junior Kristyn Shea recorded her eighth shut-out victory of the season (1-0) vs. DePaul in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Nov. 3. She is currently tied with former Friar Caitlin Walker (2011) for the most shut-outs during a single season in program history.
OVERVIEW
- On Tuesday, Nov. 3, the BIG EAST announced that senior Catherine Zimmerman was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team and freshman Casey Estey was named to the All-Freshman Team.
- Zimmerman is the leading point scorer for the Friars with 16 points on six goals and four assists. Following Zimmerman is junior Rachel Ugolik with 13 points (5 goals, 3 assists) and Estey with 10 points (4 goals, 2 assists).
- Zimmerman ranks third at Providence in career scoring with 74 points (31 goals, 12 assists).
- Junior Kristyn Shea was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week (Oct. 26) and also was named to TopDrawerSoccer's Team of the Week (Oct. 27) for her back-to-back shutouts versus DePaul (W, 2-0) on Oct. 22 and at Seton Hall (W, 1-0) on Oct. 25.
- Shea's 12 saves versus DePaul in the 2-0 shutout on Oct. 22 marked a career-high for the junior
- Shea currently holds a 0.98 goals-against average in the 1837:30 minutes she has played. She has made 88 saves and holds a .815 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE HOYAS
- Georgetown, which earned a First Round-bye, posted a 11-5-2 (6-1-2 BIG EAST) record during the regular season.
- Earlier this season (Sept. 27), the Friars were defeated by the Hoyas (2-1, 2OT) in a thrilling game that was sent into overtime with a goal from Zimmerman with 46-seconds left on the clock. The game would end with a free kick from Georgetown's Rachel Corboz in the 105th minute for her second goal of the game.
- Corboz is currently leading the Hoyas in points (28) with 10 goals and eight assists. Following Corboz are Crystal Thomas with 18 points (6 goals, 6 assists) and Grace Damaska with 17 points (7 goals, 3 assists).
- Emma Newins has played in 17-of-18 games recording 1581:58 minutes in net. Newins holds a 1.19 goals-against average and a .806 save percentage. Georgetown has recorded five shutouts, including two during BIG EAST play versus Xavier (3-0) and Seton Hall (4-0).
- Georgetown is the conference leader in goals scored (41), goals per game (2.28), as well as corner kicks per game (11.56).
Providence's History In The BIG EAST TournamenT
- Providence College captured the BIG EAST title in 1993 and has qualified for BIG EAST Tournament play five times, since the championship began in 1993. The Friars are 4-3 all-time in BIG EAST Tournament action.
- Second-year Head Coach Sam Lopes is 1-1 all-time at the BIG EAST Tournament. Lopes is the first Friar head coach to make the Tournament two years in a row to start his coaching career.
- The Friars, who also qualified for the BIG EAST Tournament in 2014, are making back-to-back appearances in the conference tournament for just the second time in program history. The only other time Providence made consecutive appearances in the BIG EAST Tournament dates back to the 1993 and 1994 seasons.
A RECORD-BREAKING SEASON
- The Friars' 13 victories in 2015 are the most wins in program history. The previous program-best for wins was set in 1991 when the team finished the year 11-5-0. Additionally, the Friars have posted double-digits wins just five times in program history: 1983 (10-4-0), 1991 (11-5-0), 1992 (10-9-0), 1993 (10-9-2) and 2015 (13-7-0).
- Providence has scored 25 goals this season, which marks the most in a single season since 2010. That year the Friars also scored 25 goals. The last time the Friars scored more than 25 goals was during the 1995 campaign (26).
