Men's Track Competes At BU Terrier Invitational

The Providence College men's track team competed at the BU John Thomas Terrier Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 31 in Boston, Mass.
In the mid-distance events, junior Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England) kick-started the afternoon with a fifth-place finish in the 1,000 meters, finishing in a personal best time of 2:23.7. Fellow classmate Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) was next up on the track in the mile. Oakley finished fourth in a time of 4:00.36.
Also in the mile, junior Brendan Sullivan (Foxboro, Mass.) came away with a personal best time of 4:24.76.
For Providence in the 3,000 meters, senior Brian Doyle (Swansea, Mass.) finished with a three second personal best in a time of 8:06.90 for 11th-place. Sophomore Trevor Crawley (Cumberland, R.I.), junior Christian Costello (Ridgewood, N.J.) and freshman Aaron Hanlon (Drogheda, Ireland) also ran in the 3,000 meters. Crawley crossed the line in a personal best time of 8:24.64, while Costello and Hanlon crossed the line in 8:34.21 and 8:36.30, respectively.
The Friars will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 7 in Kingston, R.I. at the URI Coaches Invitational.
