Providence, R.I. -
The Providence College women's soccer team fell to Harvard, 2-0, on Sept. 7 at the Ray Treacy Track. The Friars are 1-3-2 on the season, while the Crimson advance to 2-0-0.
Harvard took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute off of a penalty kick scored by Margaret Pruce. At the end of the first half Providence held the advantage in shots, 10-3.
In the 78th minute, Pruce notched an unassisted goal marking her second on the season and giving Harvard the lead, 2-0. Catherine Zimmerman (Piscataway, N.J.) had one of the best chances on net for the Friars in the 86th minute, but it hit the post.
The Friars maintained the advantage in shots for the game, 18-11. Junior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) recorded two saves on the game.
"The score isn't a true indication of the performance," said Head Coach Sam Lopes. "We're playing well and creating chances, we ned to be more clinical in front of the goal so we can get results that reflect the overall play."
The Friars will take on Brown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11 at the Ray Treacy Track.
