The Friars took a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute as senior Daniella Bernasconi (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) scored her second goal of the season, unassisted, from the middle of the circle.
Lock Haven answered in the 27th minute as Taylor Kennedy found the back of the cage off a penalty corner. The game remained knotted, 1-1, as regulation came to a close.
In the first overtime session, Lock Haven recorded a 3-1 advantage in shots and a 2-0 edge in penalty corners. Clymer came up big for the Friars in goal, making three of her eight saves in the first overtime.
Guglielmo came through for the Friars in the second overtime session in the 88th minute, as she tipped in an initial shot taken by sophomore Adrienne Houle (Burlington, Ontario). Houle was credited with the assist on the play.
For the game, Lock Haven held a 15-11 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in penalty corners.
Providence returns to action on Friday, Sept. 5 against 13th-ranked Boston College. The game will be played at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I. and is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
