Men's Basketball Earns Win In First Game In Italy

MILAN, ITALY - The Providence College Friars opened their tour of Italy with a, 135-50, win over Nelson Basket on Thursday in Milan, Italy. The Friars were led by sophomore Junior Lomomba (Montreal, Quebec) who scored 32 points on 10-17 shooting, including 4-4 from three-point territory. Lomomba played 37 minutes in the victory.

In addition to Lomomba, the Friars also were paced by their other four starters. Freshman Rodney Bullock (Hampton, Va.) was 10-15 from the field and recorded nine rebounds as he finished with 29 points. Junior Tyler Harris (Dix Hills, N.Y.) registered 21 points in 24 minutes of action. Seniors LaDontae Henton (Lansing, Mich.) registered 24 points and Carson Desrosiers (Windham, N.H.) scored four points and had a team-high 11 rebounds.

Freshman point guard Kyron Cartwright (Compton, Calif.) had 13 points and eight assists in 29 minutes of action off the bench.

Providence will play its second of three games on its Italian Tour on Monday when it plays in Rome versus Perugia.
