PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Head Coach Susan Robinson Fruchtl announced today [Nov. 13] that four student-athletes have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Providence and compete as members of the women's basketball program beginning in the Fall of 2015. The Class of 2019 includes Rachel Aho (Holden, Mass.), Maddie Jolin (Rehoboth, Mass.), Erica Meyer (Wilton, Conn.) and Jovana "Yoyo" Nogic (Lisbon, Portugal). This will mark the third, full recruiting class of Robinson Fruchtl's tenure at Providence College.

"I am thrilled to announce our incoming class," Robinson Fruchtl said. "This class is our most balanced class, to date, and it is one that will help take this program to new heights. They are all very hard working, skilled and highly competitive. Their basketball IQ will really be utilized in the offenses and defenses that we plan on implementing going forward. It is exciting, because as incoming freshmen, they will get to travel with the team to Italy and Paris next August. Each of them will be challenged very early in their careers with this trip. I am confident they will be more than ready for this challenge and gain a great deal of experience in the process."

Aho, a 6-foot, 3-inch forward, currently attends Marianapolis Preparatory High School and also has played for Wachusett Travel, Central Mass. Shamrocks, Team Mass. and the New England Crusaders during her career. During the 2013-14 season, Aho averaged 12.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Aho recorded seven double-doubles, while shooting over 50-percent from the field. She has collected numerous honors during her career, including Team MVP, MIAA Central Mass. League All-Star (2012-13) and NEPSAC League All-Star (2013-14). Helped guide Wachusett to the 2012 Central Mass. District Championship. Aho also was a Nike Skills East Coast Camp participant in 2012. She will serve as team captain in 2014-15, and is the daughter of Wayne and Pamela Aho.

"Rachel will be the second player on our roster hailing from the greater Worcester, Mass. area," Robinson Fruchtl said. "Rachel is a versatile post player, who can play with her back to the basket and hit the three as the trail. She is a very good passer in the high-low game. Rachel will also give us strength in the rebounding and defensive facets of the game. We want to thank her high school and New England Crusaders Coach, Lauren Moore, and Crusaders Director, Kara Leary, for all their assistance in the recruiting process and in getting Rachel prepared to be successful at this level."

Jolin, a 5-foot, 9-inch guard, currently attends Bishop Feehan High School and also has played for the Rhode Island Breakers. As a junior in 2013-14, Jolin averaged 13.0 points, 7.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game. She heads into her final season at Bishop Feehan with career totals of 770 points, 412 rebounds, 370 assists and 305 steals. She is an All-Area Star selection, and is currently ranked 267 in the Blue Star Basketball Top-300. Jolin also is an accomplished soccer player, having earned All-New England and All-State honors. During her soccer career, she registered 102 goals and 42 assists for Bishop Feehan. She is the daughter of Suzanne and David Jolin.

"We are very excited to have Maddie become a Friar and follow in her dad's footsteps," Robinson Fruchtl said. "Maddie is one of the most competitive people you will ever meet and that will add a great deal of mental toughness to our team. Maddie has been all-everything at Bishop Feehan both on the court and on the soccer field. She has been a part of highly successful teams and we expect her to bring that experience to our program. Maddie is someone who has great court vision. She is a combo guard who has deceptive speed and quickness. She also is a tenacious defender, who has a really good feel for the game and great anticipation skills. We want to thank Bill Coughlin and the Rhode Island Breakers organization for their assistance in the recruiting process. We also want to thank her high school coach, Michael Deady."

Meyer, a 6-foot, 3-inch forward/center, currently attends Wilton High School, where she will serve as a team captain in 2014-15. She also has played for Exodus NYC, Wescon Fillies and Connecticut Premier. During the 2013-14 season, Meyer averaged a team-best 13.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game. She is a two-time All-FCIAC honoree, having been recognized on the Third Team (2014) and as an Honorable Mention selection (2013). Last season, she helped guide Wilton to the FCIAC Final and Class L State Semifinal games. She also earned All-Area First Team and CHSSBA Connecticut Regional All-Star (West Region) honors as a junior. Meyer is currently ranked No. 17 among post players in the 2015 class, according to ESPN Hoopgurlz. She is the daughter of Adrianne and Jerry Meyer.

"We have been waiting for Erica to officially become a Friar for quite some time," Robinson Fruchtl said. "Erica committed to us over a year ago and we are so excited she will be joining us next year. She will provide a much needed physical presence in the paint for us on both defense and offense. She runs the floor, has good hands and uses her body well in the lane. Erica can also step away from the paint and hit the jumper, making her a great fit for our high-low attack in our offensive schemes. We want to thank her former AAU coach, Jackie DiNardo, her current AAU Coach with the NYC Exodus, Thomas Davis, and her Wilton High School coach, Jaclyn Porco for all their assistance in the recruiting process."

Nogic, a 6-foot, 1-inch combo guard, is of Serbian descent, but resides in Lisbon, Portugal. Nogic currently attends Vergilio Ferreira High School and plays club basketball for SL Benfica. She has extensive International playing experience, having seen time with the Serbian National Team. Nogic also was a member of the U-16 Serbian Team that won the European Championship (B Division) in 2013. She averaged 9.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Nogic also was named MVP of the semifinal game of the U-16 European Championship (2013) and was selected as MVP of the quarterfinal game of the U-18 European Championship (2014). She finished both Championships ranked third in three-point field-goal percentage (0.429). Additionally, she was part of two Portuguese National Championships with SL Benfica, claiming the 1st Division in 2014 and the 2nd Division in 2013. Nogic helped guide AB Lisbon to the 2012 and 2013 U-16 Inter-Regional Portuguese Championship titles. She is the daughter of Olivera and Goran Nogic.

"We are so excited to have Yoyo join us here in Friartown," Robinson Fruchtl said. "We believe Yoyo will be one of the most exciting big guards to watch in the future of our program. She is extremely versatile and can play any guard position. Her deep-range shooting ability is the obvious skill that stands out right away, but her ability to see the court and deliver a timely pass is a quality that will have a major effect on our program. Yoyo's length at 6'-1" on the perimeter gives her an advantage on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor, and it is something that will fit nicely into the style of basketball that we plan on playing. We want to thank her family and the entire coaching staff of the Benfica Women's Basketball Team in Lisbon, Portugal for their assistance in the recruiting process."
