STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Providence College volleyball team (1-27, 0-10) fell to the Stony Brook Seawolves (10-12, 5-4) in Stony Brook, N.Y. The Friars were defeated in straight sets, 25-17, 25-17 and 25-15.

The Friars were led offensively by sophomore Kelly Ashmore (St. Louis, Mo.) who had a team-high nine kills while adding seven digs. Freshman Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek Fla.) collected a team-high 21 assists and added three kills and five digs. Senior Cassie Muzzonigro (Gibsonia, Pa.) led all players with 14 digs. Stony Brook was led by Melissa Rigo who collected a double-double (17k, 11d) and Nicole Vogel who led all players with 39 assists.

The Friars will close out their regular season with three matches this week. The Friars will host in-state rival Rhode Island on Wednesday, November 7. The final two games will close out the conference schedule for the Friars, with games on Friday, November 9 and Sunday, November 11. On Friday the Friars will play the Albany Great Danes on the road before hosting the Hartford Hawks in the season finale on Sunday.
