PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College announced its 18-game BIG EAST men's basketball home-and away-opponent schedule on Thursday, June 30. Once again, the Friars will face 12 opponents once and three teams twice. All BIG EAST Conference games will be televised by CBS Sports, the ESPN family of networks or ESPN Regional Television.
Providence will play Georgetown, Syracuse and USF at home and on the road in 2011-12. The Friars will host BIG EAST rival defending NCAA Champion Connecticut as well as Louisville at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Other league home games will be against Marquette, Rutgers, Seton Hall and West Virginia.
In addition to playing at Georgetown, Syracuse and USF the Friars also will travel to Cincinnati, DePaul, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, St. John's and Villanova.
The Friars will play 13 of their 18 league games against teams that participated in the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
Dates and times for all the Friar men's basketball games will be released in the fall.
