Three Friars Compete At First Day Of Mt. Sac Relays

WALNUT, CALIF. - Providence College sent a group of athletes across the country to compete at the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. from Thursday-Saturday, April 15-17. Three Friars performed well on the opening day to set the tone for the rest of the weekend. Graduate student Katie DiCamillo (Garden City, N.Y.) ran the 10,000m in the University/Open Run and placed second. DiCamillo finished in 33:57.10, just two seconds behind Princeton's Sarah Cummings.
Sophomore Sara Graney (Palisades, N.Y.) competed in the women's 3,000m University/Open division and placed ninth of 21 competitors. Graney crossed the line at 11:03.97.
On the men's side, senior Tom Webb (Williston, Vt.) placed 23rd in the 10,000m Olympic Development/Open division. Webb finished in 30:09.46. Luis Collazo of the Puerto Rico National Team took first with a time of 28:51.01.
