MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - The Providence College women's basketball team fell to Marquette, 92-59, in BIG EAST Conference action at the Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee, Wisc. on Tuesday, January 31. Krystal Ellis led five Marquette players in double figures with 17 points. Providence freshmen Chelsea Marandola (Johnston, R.I.) and Catherine Bove (Cincinnati, Ohio) each scored 10 points for the Friars.

For Marquette, Christina Quaye tallied 13 points, while Danielle Kamm scored 12. Quaye and Kamm each pulled down a game-high eight rebounds. Kamm added a game-high six assists. Jasmine McCullough and Erin Monfre scored 12 points and 10 points, respectively.

Marquette shot 51.6-percent (32-62) from the field in the game, including a 16-of-28 showing in the second half (57.1-percent). PC struggled offensively in the first half from the field at 25.8-percent (8-31), but improved in the second half (40.0-percent, 14-35).

The Golden Eagles took a 37-21 lead into the locker room at halftime, and outscored Providence, 55-38, in the second half. Marquette held a 43-38 advantage on the boards.

PC fifth-year senior Gayle Nwafili (Maplewood, N.J.) and junior Shauna Snyder (Albuquerque, N.M.) scored nine points each. Nwafili led the Friars on the boards with 7 caroms.
