PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team (3-17) rolled over Saint Francis (N.Y.) (0-19) by the score of 3-0, Sunday afternoon at PC's Mullaney Gymnasium. The Friars won by scores of 30-9, 30-13 and 30-7. PC freshman Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a match-high 13 kills while, classmate Nonie Ferguson (Davie, Fla.) turned in a double-digit total as well with 10 kills.
As a team the Friars also recorded an impressive season-high .346 hitting percentage.
Senior Annie Fiorvanti (Northport, N.Y.) had a match-high 34 assists along with 12 digs to notch her third double-double in four matches, and 10th of the year. Senior Allison Baker (Glastonbury, Conn.) also played well with 12 digs and nine kills while sophomore Sarah Fleming (St. Paul, Minn.) had nine digs, seven kills and a hitting percentage of .400.
Freshman Amanda Little (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) rounded out the effort with a match-high 25 digs.
Having won two of its last four contests, Providence volleyball heads to Central Connecticut for its next match. The Friars play CCSU on Oct. 5th at 7:00 p.m.
