Men's Indoor Track Competes At Terrier Cup

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Providence College men's indoor track team competed at the Terrier Cup on Saturday, January 22 on the campus of Boston University. Seniors Patrick Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) and Liam Reale (Hospital, Ireland) as well as sophomore Darren Brown (Spring, Texas) paced the way for the Friars with first-place finishes.
Moulton recorded a personal best time of 8:19.71 to capture the 3,000 meters and qualify for the BIG EAST Indoor Track Championships. Freshman Ahmed Haji of West Hartford, Conn. (3rd - 8:25.68), junior Joe Dionne of Oshawa, Ontario (4th - 8:27.72), and senior Patrick Guidera of Clonmel, Ireland (5th - 8:32.99) also qualified for the BIG EAST Championships. Reale won the 800 meters in a time of 1:52.56 as he qualified for the BIG EAST. In the 1,000 meters, Brown took first-place in a time of 2:25.29 to qualify for the BIG EAST.
Sophomore Nicholas Weidman (Sudbury, Mass.) and senior Ben Pollock (Westford, Mass.) finished third and sixth, respectively to qualify for the BIG EAST. Weidman recorded a time of 4:17.80, while Pollock finished the race in a time of 4:19.30. Junior Richard Jones (Wellington, New Zealand) ran the 500 meters in a time of 1:04.54 and finished second as he also qualified for the BIG EAST.
The Friars are back in action on January 28-29 at the Terrier Classic at Boston University.
