New Hampshire (2-4-2, 0-0 AMERICA EAST): The Wildcats return to Providence, R.I. for the second time this month after an overtime defeat to Brown, 2-1, on Friday September 17. The Wildcats are in their second two-game losing skid of the season after a home shutout to Harvard, 3-0, on September 19. Harvard outshot the Wildcats 19-6, and held the advantage on corner kicks, 6-3. New Hampshire is led by last season's leading scorer, junior Jackie Wishoski with six points on the season (three goals). Senior goalkeeper Liz MacKay, the America East Player of the Week for September 13, leads the team with 36 saves on the season and has a .720 save percentage. MacKay is ranked fifth in the America East Conference averaging 4.50 saves per game.
Providence College (3-5, 0-2 BIG EAST): The Providence College women's soccer team hosts the New Hampshire Wildcats in non-conference action on Friday, September 24, 2004 at Glay Field in Providence, R.I. In their last meeting, the game ended in an overtime tie, 0-0, on September 16, 2003. The Friars are coming off a two-game losing skid losing to conference foes West Virginia (4-1) and Connecticut (3-1). The Friars are led by senior BriAnne Bruni (Bristol, Conn.) with 10 points on the season. Bruni is tied for second in the BIG EAST with five goals on the season, averaging 0.71 goals per game. Senior Veronica Bakke (Alesund, Norway) is second on the team with six points on three goals. Freshman Laura Elfers (Deer Park, N.Y.) recorded nine saves versus Connecticut on September 22, her second nine save performance of the season. Elfers is ranked fourth in the BIG EAST with 41 saves, and second in saves per game (5.33).
New Hampshire holds a 10-6-3 all-time record versus Providence. Sixth year head coach Tracy Kerr boasts a 3-0-2 record versus the Wildcats during her coaching career at Providence.
