Men's Basketball Announces 2004-05 BIG EAST Opponents

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College announced its 16-game BIG EAST men's basketball home-and away-opponent schedule on Thursday, July 1. The Friars will play five teams twice and six teams once (three home and three away).

Providence will play Boston College, Rutgers, Syracuse, Villanova and West Virginia at home and on the road in 2004-05. For the second consecutive season, the Friars will host the defending national champion at the Dunkin' Donuts Center when the University of Connecticut visits Providence. Other league home games will be against Notre Dame and St. John's.

In addition to playing at BC, Rutgers, Syracuse, Villanova and West Virginia, the Friars also will travel to Georgetown, Pittsburgh and Seton Hall.

Dates and times for all the Friar men's basketball games will be released in the fall.

Fans interested in purchasing men's basketball season tickets can visit the Providence College Ticket Office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall or call (401) 865-GO PC.
