Men's Indoor Track Competes At Boston University Meet

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Providence College men's indoor track team finished in fifth-place (19 points) at the Boston University Five-Way Track Meet on Saturday, February 7.

Junior Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ontario) paced the way for the Friars as he finished first in the mile in a time of 4:01.15. Wykes, who set a personal best time in the mile, also set a new facility record in the event. In addition, Wykes qualified for the NCAA's in the mile. Sophomore Martin Fagan (Mullingar, Ireland) finished behind Wykes in a time of 4:06.21. Fagan qualified for the BIG EAST and ECAC Championship.

In the 800 meters, sophomore Richard Jones (Wellington, New Zealand) placed second in a time of 1:52.75 to qualify for the BIG EAST Championship. In the 1,000 meters, sophomore Ranjit Banwait (Carteret, N.J.) was PC's top finisher as he placed fourth in a time of 2:33.52.

Providence is back in action on February 13-14 at the St. Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.
