FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Providence College volleyball team (5-20) blanked Sacred Heart (4-17) this evening by the score of 3-0, to mark the Friars' second shut out of the year. Providence won by scores of 30-25, 30-25 and 30-23.
Senior captain Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) posted a game-high 19 kills in the victory, PC's second road win of the season. Junior setter Annie Fiorvanti (Northport, N.Y.) turned in a game-high 37 assists along with nine digs, while senior libero Jennifer Backes (Seaford, N.Y.) also tallied nine digs.
Senior Gayle Malachowski (Warwick, R.I.) also posted an impressive outing with 6 digs and a pair of kills, while junior Allison Baker (Glastonbury, Conn.) had eight kills and six digs.
Providence volleyball returns to action in its season-finale next Friday, Nov. 5 at Fairleigh Dickinson at 7:00 p.m.
