PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team (4-13) lost a pair of matches this evening by the score of 3-0, to both Brown (4-8) and Maine (8-6) on senior night at Mullaney Gymnasium in Alumni Hall.
In the Maine game, PC lost by scores of 30-20, 30-26 and 30-19. Senior captain Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the Friar attack with nine kills, while classmate Jennifer Backes (Seaford, N.Y.) totaled nine digs and junior Annie Fiorvanti (Northport, N.Y.) added 20 assists and nine digs. Freshman Kasey Adinolfi (Branford, Conn.) also played well totaling seven digs.
Against Brown, the Friars lost by scores of 30-21, 30-14 and 30-20. Cadres led the offense with 13 kills while Backes tallied 12 digs and Fiorvanti added 21 assists.
Providence volleyball returns to action this Wednesday, Oct. 6 as it hosts Central Connecticut at 7:00 p.m.
