PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team (4-15) was defeated by Boston College (15-7) this evening by the score of 3-0. The Eagles won by scores of 30-16, 30-25 and 30-21.
Junior setter Annie Fiorvanti (Northport, N.Y.) led the squad with 20 assists, while sophomore teammate Kerry Schulz (Fairfield, Conn.) and senior captain Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) each had eight kills. Senior Jennifer Backes (Seaford, N.Y.) tallied seven digs, as did Fiorvanti to round out the Friar scoresheet.
Boston College junior Verena Rost (Houston, Texas) turned in a double-double with 39 assists and 10 digs to lead the Eagles to their eighth consecutive win.
Providence volleyball returns to action this weekend as it hits the road for a trio of matches. PC takes on West Virginia on Friday, Oct. 15 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Morgantown, W.V.
