BRONX, N.Y. - The Providence College volleyball team was defeated by St. Peter's, 3-1 (30-18, 21-30, 30-26, 33-31), in the final match of the 2003 Rose Hill Classic hosted by Fordham.

The Friars (0-6) were led by sophomore Allison Baker (Glastonbury, Conn.), with 23 kills on 43 total attacks for a .442 hitting percentage on offense and 11 digs for the defensive effort. Classmate Katie Fleming (Cary, N.C.) had a double-double with a match-high 20 digs and 15 kills.

Sophomore Annie Fiorvanti (Northport, N.Y.) notched a match-high 50 assists.

Providence returns to action on Friday, September 12 versus UMBC at 7:00 p.m. in the UMBC Chesapeake Classic.
