PROVIDENCE, RI - Providence College was defeated by West Virginia, 3-0 (30-23, 30-21, 30-26), in volleyball action on Sunday, September 28 at Mullaney Gymnasium.
Junior Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the Friars (1-16) on offense with a match-high 14 kills on 30 attacks for a .233 hitting percentage. Sophomore Katie Fleming (Cary, N.C.) anchored the Providence defense with a match-high 14 digs.
West Virginia (3-11) was paced by Dimitra Havriluk and Stephanie Zolna. Each recorded nine kills for the visiting Mountaineers. Aurora Ebert-Santos added a team-high nine digs.
Providence returns to action on Wednesday, October 1 in a 7:00 p.m. home match against Sacred Heart.
