PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College field hockey team fell to Maine, 2-1, in overtime on Sunday, September 28 in Providence, R.I. Junior Amy Phillips (Worcester, Mass.) scored PC's lone goal of the game with no time left in regulation on a penalty corner to force overtime. Maine's Rachael Hilgar scored two goals on the afternoon, including the game winner just 41-seconds into overtime.

The Black Bears scored their first goal of the afternoon at the 29:47 mark of the first half as Hilgar scored off of a pass from Kristen Costa. Maine held the lead until the waning seconds of regulation, as Providence forced two penalty corners with no time left on the clock. During the second offensive corner, Phillips knocked home her sixth goal of the season in a scramble in front of the cage.
