WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Providence College volleyball team (0-3) was defeated by the United States Military Academy (1-1), 3-0 (30-19, 30-25, 30-12), in its final match at the West Point Tournament on Saturday, August 30 at Gillis Field House in West Point, N.Y.

The Friars were paced on offense by junior Jennifer Backes (Seaford, N.Y.), who posted five kills on 16 total attacks for a .250 hitting percentage. Sophomore Katie Fleming anchored the defense with 11 digs.

Providence returns to action on Friday, September 5 at 11:30 a.m. against Fordham at the Rose Hill Classic in the Bronx, N.Y.
