PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Sheiku Kabba had 18 points and Rob Sanders added 17 on Tuesday night to lead Providence to an 84-60 win over South Florida.
South Florida (3-1) took an early 8-7 lead, but the Friars outscored the Bulls 32-13 the rest of the first half to take a 39-21 halftime lead.
The closest the Bulls came in the second half was on a 12-2 run capped by Marlyn Bryant's basket, closing the gap to 49-39 with about 13 minutes to play. But the Friars (3-0) steadily pulled away the rest of the game, hitting 13 of 16 second-half free throws.
The Friars, averaging seven 3-pointers a game, hit 9 of 21 against the Bulls, led by Sanders, who sank all three of his 3-pointers and was 6 of 10 from the field overall.
South Florida, which turned the ball over 19 times, was led by Bradley Mosley with 18 points and Bryant with 12.
Moseley scored five points and Brian Swift added a 3-pointer in the Bulls' early lead.
South Florida, which beat the Friars 68-64 last year, will be joining the Big East next season.
