Men's Indoor Track Team Competes At Yale Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Providence College men's indoor track team competed at the Yale Invitational on Saturday, January 11. Sophomores Liam Reale (Hospital, Ireland), Pat Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) and Dylan Wykes (Kingston, Ont.) captured the 800-meter run, the 3,000-meter run and the mile-run, respectively.

In the 800-meter run, Reale placed first in a time of 1.54.56. Senior Brian Colleran of Stamford, Conn. (2:01.24) and sophomore Tom Geer of Glastonbury, Conn. (2:01.67) took seventh and eighth place, respectively.

In the 3,000-meter run, the Friars had four runners finish in the top eight led by Moulton's first-place finish of 8:37.17. Junior Jamie Carmichael of Windsor, Vt. (3rd - 8:44.55), sophomore Ben Pollock of Westford, Mass. (4th - 8.50.67) and sophomore Mike St. Thomas of North Kingstown, R.I. (8th - 9:18.96) rounds out the list of Friar competitors in the 800-meter run.

Wykes' time of 4:15.51 in the mile-run was good for first while sophomore Pat Guidera (Clonmel, Ireland) placed ninth in a time of 4:28.21 and freshman Ranjit Banwait (Kingston, Ont.) took 12th-place in a time of 4:33.41.

In the distance medley relay, the Friars took second-place as the quartet of graduate students Paul Reilly (Loughrea, Ireland) and David Wickman (Jefferson, Mass.), senior Tyler McCabe (Mystic, Conn.) as well as freshman Richard Jones (Wellington, New Zealand) recorded a time of 10:17.12.

The Friars will next compete on January 24-25 at the Boston University Terrier Invitational.
