MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Providence College men's cross country team, ranked 10th nationally, finished sixth of 27 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday, September 28 in Minneapolis, Minn. Senior Adam Sutton (Preston, England) led the Friars, crossing the finish line fourth overall in a time of 24:22.4.
Ninth-ranked Oregon scored 96 points to take the top spot. The Friars finished with 220 points as Sutton was the top scorer. Friar senior Tyler McCabe (Mystic, Conn.) finished 25th in a time of 24:50.2, while sophomore Pat Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) placed 38th in a time of 25:01.6. Also scoring for the Friars were sophomore Pat Guidera (Clonmel, Ireland), who placed 53rd in a time of 25:10.4 and freshman Joe Dionne (Oshawa, Ont.), who finished 100th in a time of 25:35.2.
The Friars will return to action on Friday, October 11 at the New England Championship in Boston, Mass.
