Men's Indoor Track Competes At Brown University

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's indoor track team competed at the Brown University Alden Invitational on Saturday, December 7. Freshman Richard Jones (Wellington, New Zealand), sophomore Liam Reale (Hospital, Ireland) and senior Tyler McCabe (Mystic, Conn.) turned in first place finishes in the 800-meter run, the 1,000-meter run, and the 3,000-meter, respectively.

Jones finished the 800-meter run in a time of 1:57 and senior Brian Colleran (Stamford, Mass.) finished third in a time of 2:03. Reale completed the 1,000-meter run in a time of 2:28. In the 3,000-meter run, McCabe recorded a time of 8:29 to finish first. Sophomore Pat Guidera (Clonmel, Ireland) finished second in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 8:30 and freshman Ben Pollock (Westford, Mass.) finished fourth in time of 9:01.

Senior All-American Adam Sutton (Preston, England) placed second in the mile run in a time of 4:17 and freshman Martin Fagan (Mullingar, Ireland) finished sixth in a time of 4:23. In the 500-meter dash, freshman Dan Robb (Newton, Mass.) placed 11th in a time of 1:11.

The Friars will next compete on January 10, 2003 at the Yale Invitational.
