Syracuse University Orangewomen (2-5-2/0-2-1) - The Orangewomen come to Glay Field looking for their first victory since they defeated Binghamton on September 8. In Syracuse's last game, on September 29, the Orangewomen tied Miami, 2-2 (2ot). Scoring the Orangewomen's goals were sophomore forward Natalie Galas (Stering Heights, Mich.) and junior midfielder Anne-Marie Lapalme (Granby, Quebec). Stephanie Sybert (Baltimore, Md.) is leading the offense this season. The sophomore midfielder has recorded team-highs in goals (four), assists (three), and points (11). The Orangewomen have started two different goalies this season. Getting most of the playing time lately has been freshman Emily Kowalczyk (Dayton, Ohio). In seven games (five starts), she has compiled a 2-2-1 record and has recorded one shutout. She has a goals against average of 1.71 and a save percentage of .784. Head Coach April Kater is in her seventh year and is the only women's soccer coach Syracuse has ever had. She will attempt to continue the Orangewomen's winning streak versus the Friars. Syracuse leads the all-time series versus the Friars, 6-0-0.

Providence College Friars (4-4-2/0-3-0) - The Friars will be looking for their first BIG EAST Northeast Division win this season when they host Syracuse at Glay Field. PC's last game, on September 29, was a 1-0 (2ot) loss at Boston College. The Eagles were able to put the ball past junior goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) in the 106th minute. Haines, who was playing in her first game since September 20, made nine saves in the contest. For the season, her 44 saves ranks fourth among BIG EAST goalkeepers. Leading the friar offense this season is sophomore midfielder Maura Robertson (Wellesley, Mass.). She has registered a team-high five assists and 11 points. Robertson is tied with sophomore midfielder BriAnne Bruni (Bristol, Conn.) for the team lead in goals with three. Head Coach Tracy Kerr is in her fourth year at Providence and will attempt to become the first Friar women's soccer coach to record a victory against the Orangewomen.
