College of the Holy Cross Crusaders (4-8-2) - The Crusaders come to Glay field looking for their first win against the Friars, in Providence, since a 2-0 victory in 1998. They also are looking to rebound from three consecutive defeats. Holy Cross, representing the Patriot League, has been led offensively by senior forward Brandy Ault (Sykesville, Md.) and junior back Erica Backstrom (Worcester, Mass.). Ault leads the team in points (12) and assists (four), while Backstrom leads the Crusaders in goals (five) and is second in points (11). Junior Christine Arsenault (North Easton, Mass.) has started 13 games this season in goal for Holy Cross. She is giving up an average of 1.76 goals per game, and has a save percentage of .755. Head Coach Mary Curtis is in her 11th season at Holy Cross and has a 2-4 record against the Friars.
Providence College Friars (7-8-2) - Providence hosts Holy Cross in the last regular-season game for the Friars this year. This contest marks the final home game for Providence seniors Katie Auger (Putnam, Conn.), Emilie Comeau (Westerly, R.I.), Kristin Gardner (Trumbull, Conn.), Kyle McAuley (Trumbull, Conn.), and Jackie Powers (Happauge, N.Y.). The Friars are looking to rebound from four consecutive losses, with their most recent being against Yale (1-0) on Sunday, October 27. Providence is led by sophomore midfielder Maura Robertson (Wellesley, Mass.) who has team highs in goals (five), assists (seven), and points (17). Robertson's 17 points this season gives her a total of 33 in her career. That mark places her 11th on the Providence all-time scoring list. Junior Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) has started 13 games in goal for the Friars this season. She is giving up an average of 1.16 goals per game, and has a save percentage of .825. The Friars and the Crusaders have met 15 times with Providence owning an 11-4 record, including victories in the last two meetings. A victory over Holy Cross will give the Friars eight wins on the season. This total would be the most wins in a season under fourth-year Head Coach Tracy Kerr and will also be the most wins by a Friar women's soccer team in eight years, matching the 1994 team.
