Keith Kelly Finishes Third At Indoor Track NCAAs

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College senior Keith Kelly (Drogheda, Ireland) finished third in the 5,000 meters at the 2001 NCAA Indoor Track Championships on Friday, March 9 at the University of Arkansas in Lafayette, Ark. Kelly earned his fourth All-American honor with his performance, finishing the 5,000-meter event in 13:50.44.

The Providence senior finished behind William and Mary senior Matthew Lane and the event's winner, David Kimani, a sophomore from Alabama.

Kelly earned his fourth All-America honor of his career and continued his outstanding senior season which saw him win the NCAA individual men's cross country title in the fall. He was named the BIG EAST Conference Outstanding Track Performer at the 2001 league indoor championships and was also named a BIG EAST Conference/Aeropostale Scholar-Athlete.
