PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Chris Anrin scored a game-high 15 points Saturday night to lead Providence past Boston University 68-62.
Providence (7-4) was also led by Abdul Mills with 13 points, and Leland Anderson with 10, all in the second half.
Billy Collins and Ryan Butt with 12 points each for the Terriers (5-5).
The Friars, who trailed 37-30 at halftime, went on a 14-2 run in the first five minutes of the second half with Anderson's two free throws making it 44-39 with 14:56 left.
Providence never trailed again, but clung to a slim lead until Linehan's 3-point play with less than a second left.
Mills' two free throws with 1:16 left made it 65-62. BU's Paul Seymour missed two 3-point attempts.
In the first half, there were four ties before Chaz Carr's 3-pointer at 11:39. The biggest lead of the game for the Terriers came at 11:15 on a layup from Seymour.
The Terriers shot 57.1 percent in the first half, led by Collins' 10 points and two 3-pointers. But Collins, BU's leading scorer, was held to just two points in the second half.
Providence held BU to 34.6 percent shooting in the second half.
It was Providence's 12th straight win in the series between the two schools, which the Friars now lead 17-4.
